About

I’m that guy sat at the very back end of the plane. Yeah, that one who opens up the window shades whilst we’re flying over friggin’ northern Siberia and seems so interested in what’s below.

I love travelling, and I’m lucky enough to have the chance to practice this hobby quite frequently, sometimes for work reasons and sometimes paying out of my own pocket.

What I love about travelling is the act of picking up my trash and go, but I’m also increasingly drawn to places that few look at, or that happen to be sitting next a very popular tourist hotspot and sit there, in the shadows.

I will post at least a couple of posts a week on this blog, talking about my errands, or other people’s ones (those lucky enough to write a book about it) and everything that’s related to the world of travel.

Welcome!

I laughed at the window shade-opening line! I think I drive people nuts when I constantly peek out my window to see the landforms down below. That’s one of my favorite parts of a trip!

Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I have to say, though, that I’ve become a lot more considerate towards others in my window-opening antics.. Now I go to the aircraft’s galley and do it there. But yeah, sometimes it’s such a pain not to be able to do it, don’t you think?

Your blog is among the best I’ve come across. Detail, wit, observation, history… I love travelling ‘with’ you… I so enjoy your writing and accompanying pictures. There’s a particularly lovely shot of a person with a red umbrella walking up a flight of stairs under tree branches covered in frost in one of your Budapest posts (street photography part 2, I think)… Well, I am wondering if I could have your permission to feature it in on a blog post I am preparing for “inspiring photos” from WP bloggers that I follow. There will be full attribution and links to your home page and the original post. Would that be all right? Best regards.

Hello again, Fabrizio, it’s that time for me to do another ‘curation project’. May I link to one of your blog posts? This time I am featuring blogs which specifically mingle photos and the written word. Full attribution and all that, as usual. What do you think? if you have any questions, please contact me on my home page. Cheers.

Up front—once or twice, virtually always somewhere in the middle, but I’ve never been at the back end of a plane. Sounds interesting. At least, we can see more from there, I guess. 🙂
